The Oregon women’s golf team swings into action today as it headlines the Kitahara Fresno State Invitational in Fresno, Calif., against a field which includes No. 25 Long Beach State among others.
Juniors Therese Wenslow and Kim McCready lead the Ducks as they look to outplay the field, which includes four top-50 ranked teams. Along with Long Beach State, No. 29 Oregon, No. 41 Denver and No. 43 New Mexico State are in the field.
The rest of the teams in the tournament include Boise State, Cal Poly, Colorado, Colorado State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon State, Sacramento State, San Diego State, San Francisco and San Jose State, UC Davis, UC Irvine and individuals from the Fresno State and UCLA squads.
The Oregon men also take to the links as they look to improve on their 18th-place performance at the Hawaii-Hilo Invitational Feb. 8-10. Oregon will be at the Ashworth Invitational today and Tuesday in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Derek Sipe, Joey Benedetti, Justin St. Clair, Gregg LaVoie and Landon Banks will play for Oregon in the 15-team field, which includes Pacific-10 Conference rivals Oregon State, Stanford, Washington, UCLA and USC.
