I admit it; I don’t like writing columns. First off, it’s hard to come up with an idea because you can literally write on anything. I’m always a bit apprehensive to write about certain subjects because I don’t want to piss too many people off. And although I’m pretty opinionated, I’m not the kind of person who thinks it’s my God-given right to push my opinion on every person I met.
But this week I’m going to do something different. I’m going to rant. Because lately I’ve been feeling a little bit stressed out at the world and some of the people who inhabit it.
Let’s start with… women. On MySpace I’ve noticed women who pose in their underwear trying to look all sexy, as if they pray
that by showing their ass they will get more friends (I’m sure they do but what kind of friends are they anyway?). Annoys the hell out of me.
After all that women have been through, we are once again resorting to our bodies to get attention? It’s one thing to be sexy; it’s another to behave as just a sex object. I cringe at what some men think about women. I don’t want to do it with a bunch of girls, like porn stars
portray, and my breasts are small, soft and natural, not gigantic watermelons filled with manufactured materials. I say, keep your clothes on ladies and rely on other things to express your personality and sexuality. Keep yourself a mystery; that’s hot.
All right, what about another topic, how about gay rights? It drives me up the wall what’s going on in our country right now. Who gives a rat’s ass who marries who? How does two men getting married have any effect on your own marriage, tell me because I would love to know. People should keep their religious beliefs the hell out of the government anyway and keep it to themselves.
God loves you, yes it’s true and I’m really happy for you. But don’t try and tell other people how to live their lives. It’s complete discrimination against a large group of people by saying “Well, you can’t get married because you’re this way.”
Unless something is affecting me (i.e. …murder, rape) it’s just not my business.
The complete fascination with celebrity culture is also getting a bit out of hand. As my friend’s sister said the other day, they pretend for a living, they aren’t doing anything that great to advance the world. Musicians are a bit different because some of them are geniuses and music is one of the greatest things in the world. But actors or actresses in Hollywood who pretend for a living shouldn’t be idolized as much as they are. You hear people talk about Jessica Simpson like they actually know her.
I bet many people know more about her than they do their own family members and, really, how sad is that?
Well, that’s the end of this week’s rant. Feels good to get some things of my chest, pun intended.
