Move-in Day was exciting for many freshman last week. For those such as Danielle Negrin of Palo Alto, CA and Laura Ragsdale of Kailua, HI, it was like hitting the jackpot. They are two of the many UO students to live in the brand new dorm, the Living Learning Center (LLC). This is the newest dorm built since the 1960s, and it comprises of many environmentally friendly features as well as bigger rooms.
The goal of this video was to document the experience of those moving into the LLC. Constructed with “green” efficiency and recycling concrete, lumber and other materials from what was there before makes this a unique addition to future student housing. Providing integration of living, learning and social interaction is the ultimate goal of this new facility.
