Oregon track and field athletes competed in two events this last weekend. The Ducks traveled to South Bend, Ind. and Seattle for competitions.
The Ducks’ 4×400 relay team of juniors Phil Alexander, Marcus Dillon, Chad Barlow and Ashton Eaton achieved their third NCAA provisional time this season with a fourth-place finish of 3 minutes, 10.03 seconds in Notre Dame’s Alex Wilson Invitational.
The quartet’s time was just .12 seconds off their season best of 3:09.91.
On Friday, Oregon’s distance relay team of Michael McGrath (1,200 meters), Dillon (400m), Andrew Wheating (800m) and Galen Rupp (1,600m) finished in a time of 9:39.43.
In the Washington Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday, Oregon pole vaulter Emily Enders had a personal best of third of 13-feet-6 1/2. Teammate Eniko Eros finished eighth at 12-6 1/2.
Outdoor All-American Britney Henry set a new school record with a throw of 68-4 1/2 that bettered her previous record by 2-feet-2 10 1/2 inches.
Runner Nicole Blood had her mile time dip to a season best 4:46.73, good for fifth place. A.J. Acosta was the top collegiate finisher in the mile with a time of 4:00.37 and third place overall.
Thrower Brian Richotte was second in the weight throw at 67-4 and 8 1/4 inches shy of his season best and school record he set last week.
