Eleven Oregon club cyclists competed against approximately 10 other teams and about 130 total riders in weekend events including a team time trial, a road race and a criterium (split between the different categories), coordinator Adam Edgerton said.
Men’s B field:
Takuya Hagiwara took seventh in the road race and second in the criterium
Perry Dickson took ninth in the criterium
Women’s A field:
Lisa Turnbull took third in the road race and third in the criterium
Men’s A field:
Orion Berryman took sixth in the road race and 11th in the criterium
Mike Brunelle took eighth in the road race
Edgerton said the squad is on track to qualify for a collegiate cycling nationals in May. Oregon next travels to Whitman College to compete April 13-15 in Walla Walla, Wash.
Women’s ultimate
Austin, Texas
The women’s ultimate club team was seeded 15th in the Centex Tournament but ended up finishing in seventh place, coordinator Kristin Benda said.
Benda said that, though the team lost to Stanford, Christina Norton made a huge layout against the Cardinal. She added that Alaina Pomeroy skied over a girl in the end zone to get a point as well.
Next on tap for the team is sectionals in Eugene April 14-15.
Crew
Palo Alto, Calif.
Sixteen members of the Ducks’ club crew team traveled to Palo Alto, Calif., for seven days of intense training, coordinator Taylor Gooch said. The squad practiced for five to seven and a half hours a day.
Oregon opens its racing season Saturday in Salem in the Governor’s Cup Regatta, which is hosted by Willamette University. Next weekend, the Ducks, along with the Oregon Association of Rowers, will host the Covered Bridge Regatta at Dexter Lake.
Women’s volleyball
The Oregon women’s club volleyball team battled and defeated Michigan’s B team and Sonoma State and lost to Arizona in the Las Vegas Open March 23-24, coordinator Caitlin McDonald said. In total, 28 teams competed.
The Ducks earned a second seed in their pool with the victories. Oregon beat USC and San Diego State and lost to Michigan’s A team and UC Davis to finish sixth in bracket play.
McDonald said the team is now around 11-3 in intercollegiate tournament play and 20-5 overall. The Ducks will fly to Louisville, Ky., to compete in nationals April 12-14.

Their season is over, but Oregon’s club racquetball team finished up with a bang on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
Eleven Ducks participated against about 40 other teams and 250 total participants, said coordinator Darioush Afshar. The men’s team earned a seventh-place finish in Division I play, while the women’s squad finished tied for fifth. Overall, the Ducks took home a seventh-place team finish.
Hannah Bloombaum and Taylor Dane achieved All-American status by making it into the semi-finals in their divisions; Bloombaum competed in the women’s No. 2 singles and Dane in the women’s No. 3 singles.
