Eugene police have identified the body found in the Willamette River near the Autzen Footbridge on Thursday as 27-year-old Heath Wesley Parker.
After police released a detailed description of the man to the local media, they received tips from local acquaintances of Parker, who was originally from Lovington, N.M. Parker was first reported missing on April 3. According to a Eugene Police Department release, there are no indications of foul play, and the death is being treated as an accidental drowning. Toxicology and other tests remain pending.
Parker’s body, which was found half-submerged near the shore, had probably been in the water for at least two days, Eugene Police Department spokesman Melinda Kletzok said Thursday.
