The Friends of the Eugene Public Library book sale, an annual event where students and community members can buy the library’s used books, CDs, DVDs and more, will be held this weekend.
The 28th annual book sale will be held at the Lane County Fairgrounds in the Performance Hall from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
The organization said because the event is moving from the Wheeler Pavilion, a smaller venue, it will have more space for what they expect to be their “bigger than ever” book sale with around 70,000 gently-used and new books available for purchase.
Serving as a major fundraiser for the library, the event raised more than $80,000 last year, which was used “to support and enhance Eugene Public Library programs and services,” according to the City of Eugene Web site.
With small paperbacks priced at $1 and large paperbacks and hardcover books at $1.50, even college students can afford to add to their book collection.
Not just an ultimate indulgence for book lovers, the sale will also include videos, recorded books, book sets, records, pamphlets, sheet music and cassettes.
For more information, call the Eugene Public Library at (541) 682-5450. Parking and admission are free at the event.
