When three young men traveled to Uganda and saw the horrors that children endure, they came back to the United States and made a movie. The children of Uganda are tools of the 20-year-long war that kidnaps them from their homes and turns them into child soldiers.
The movie, “Invisible Children: Rough Cut,” will be shown for free Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Alpha Chi Omega, 850 E. 15th Ave.
The film has inspired a movement to help the children of Uganda through a non-profit, Invisible Children, Inc. The movement includes a bracelet campaign that funds an educational effort. The bracelets are made by Ugandans living in displacement camps and the proceeds fund the Invisible Children Education Program, which selects children with high potential and pays for their entire education through scholarships.
