If you’re distressed or annoyed by children begging for candy at your door on Halloween, have no fear: A stiff drink can solve that problem. Here are a few Halloween-themed cocktails to get you in the spirit.
Scooby Snack
1 oz. coconut rum
1 oz. melon liqueur
1 1/2 oz. pineapple juice
1/2 oz. half-and-half
Shake rum, melon liqueur and pineapple juice in a shaker with ice, pour into glass, and top with half-and-half (whipped cream can also be used).
Smashing Pumpkin
1/3 oz. Kahlua
1/3 oz. Irish cream
1/3 oz. Goldschläger
Shake with ice and strain into a shot glass
Gremlin
6 oz. Crown Royal
3 oz. sweetened lime juice
Pour ingredients over ice and stir.
Green Goblin
1/2 pint hard cider
1/2 pint lager
1 shot blue Curacao
In a glass, add cider first, then lager, then Curacao.
Lynchburg Lemonade
1 3/4 oz. Jack Daniels
1/4 oz. Triple sec
Lemonade
Add alcohol and ice to glass and fill the rest with lemonade.
Swamp Water
1 oz. vodka
Splash of blue Curacao
Orange juice
Add alcohol and ice to glass and fill the rest with orange juice.
Vampire
1 oz. raspberry liqueur
1 oz. vodka
1 oz. cranberry juice
Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Serve as shots.
Zombie
1 oz. light rum
1/2 oz. almond liqueur
1/2 oz. Triple Sec
1 1/2 oz. sour mix
1 1/2 oz. orange juice
1/2 oz. 151 proof rum
Strain ingredients into a glass filled with ice. Top with 151-proof rum.
Great pumpkin punch
1 pumpkin
1 part apple cider
2 parts ginger ale
1 part rum
Combine ingredients and serve in a hollowed-out pumpkin.
