Saturday’s Homecoming festivities came with a relatively quiet weekend for Eugene police.
Patrols in the West University area on Friday night resulted in 59 citations – 25 fewer than the weekend of Oregon’s last home game against California. The majority of Friday’s citations were given for minor in possession of alcohol.
On Saturday, police activity in Autzen Stadium was also relatively calm. Eugene police and Department of Public Safety officers combined to eject 49 people from the stadium during the game against Washington State, down from 142 the previous game. Most stadium ejections were also the result of alcohol violations.
Officers also made one arrest Saturday for DUII. A driver leaving the Eugene Masonic Lodge No. 11 was involved in an accident on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, where the arrest was made.
