Jordan Kent’s three-year transition from complete football newbie to NFL player has come full circle, with reports that the former Oregon three-sport athlete has signed with the Seattle Seahawks.
The Seattle Times reported the news Friday that Kent and another Seahawks rookie, linebacker Mansfield Wrotto, put pen to paper with the team. The Oregonian’s Bob Rickert reported on oregonlive.com that Kent signed a four-year deal.
Kent came to prominence as a basketball player and All-American sprinter with the Ducks. Until joining fall camp before his junior year in 2005, Kent had not played organized football. After two promising seasons at wide receiver for Oregon, Kent was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL Draft.
