Summer has finally found us and campus is quiet. The EMU feels like a ghost town compared to the lively finals week we just endured. Besides desolate buildings, summer brings with it sunburns, celebrity anorexia gossip, and construction at Hayward Field. Now while we hope you enjoy all that summer brings we also want to let you know what your student representatives will be working on in the ASUO.
We have looked over the responsibilities laid out for us in the constitution so we fulfill all of our duties. We also looked over all the campaign fliers we bombarded you with for weeks in the middle of campus to make sure we live up to those promises. We think it is important for everyone to know what our duties, promises, and goals are so you are able to tell us what you would like us to do.
The big sign on the ASUO office window shouldn’t just say student government, it should say “we work for you.” Come into the ASUO, call us, email us we want to hear from you. You can find a letter outlining the criteria for our fulfillment of duties at asuo.uoregon.edu. Please read it, but that is just the starting point. We will work to make our campus more sustainable, school more accessible and affordable, services better. Besides that we’d like to know how you want us to better serve you.
Don’t forget your sun block, allergy medicine, and to have a great summer.
