It is shameful that student government has stooped to the level it once bitterly found itself at in years past. The dirty politics I am speaking about are Carina Miller’s words in Thursday’s Emerald (“ASUO figures reveal plan for candidacy,” ODE, Feb. 26).
Miller’s slanderous comments infer that EMU Board Chair Michelle Haley was the author of PFC member Andy Cox’s grievance against Carina Miller. I find it disheartening that Miller is using her violation of PFC rules as a catalyst for political mudslinging.
As a colleague of Haley, I can confidently say that if she were to file a grievance, she would sign her own name on the document. When she wrote the grievance against Nathan Perley last term, Haley signed the document.
Accusing Haley of playing backdoor politics is a sign that Miller is disillusioned about Haley’s character. It is evident that Miller has no accurate perception of Haley’s personality and integrity. I ask that Miller reexamine her own values before questioning others’.
