Two big innings doomed the Oregon Ducks baseball team Wednesday night in Salem-Keizer. The Oregon State Beavers put up five runs in the fourth inning, then eight in the sixth to run away with a 14-4 victory.
The loss dropped Oregon to 14-39, and the team has now lost 10 straight games. For Oregon State (33-16) it was their second straight win, and third in its last four games. The Beavers won the season series five games to one.
Chris Garrison (0-3) lasted just three innings, giving up four runs on six hits and five walks. Reliever Bennett Whitmore then got two outs, but gave up two more runs. Madison Boer followed Whitmore and gave up six runs on four hits in 1.2 innings.
From the plate, KC Serna went 1-for-4 with a run scored to lead the Ducks.
Next up for Oregon is Arizona starting this Friday at 3 p.m. The team has yet to win a Pacific-10 series this year.
