The Eugene Police Department is on the lookout for a suspect involved in indecent exposure and sex abuse incidents near campus Monday night.
Two 20-year-old women walking down Harris Street near East 19th Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. notified police of a man who allegedly jumped out from bushes at them with his genitals exposed.
The victims ran from the area, but were approached by the man again at the intersection of Harris Street and East 21st Avenue where he exposed himself again, according to an EPD release.
The women reached their destination and called the police. Police conducted a search, but were unable to locate the suspect.
Police received a call about 30 minutes later from a 25-year-old woman who reported a man asking her for directions and then grabbing her from behind on the corner of East 23rd Avenue and Harris Street.
The woman freed herself and the suspect fled westbound on East 23rd Avenue toward Alder Street. She called police, but they were again unable to find the man.
Police believe the three incidents involve the same suspect because of their proximity and similarity, according to a statement EPD issued Wednesday.
The suspect was described as a white male, about 20 years old, 5’8″ to 6’0″ tall. He is said to be about 150 to 160 pounds with an athletic build, tan skin and blond hair. When the incidents occurred he was wearing a dark gray hooded, pullover sweatshirt and dark pants.
Police ask anyone with information about the incidents, similar incidents or a potential suspect to call Detective Tony Veach at 682-5172.
