Manou, Gaynor leave women’s basketball program
Junior-to-be forward Ellie Manou and sophomore-to-be guard Darriel Gaynor have left the women’s basketball program, the University announced last Friday.
Manou, according to the release, will stay in her home Australia, while Gaynor is looking for another school to play for.
Manou has been in Sydney, Australia, since the beginning of spring term, opting to take the term off to decide her future after former coach Bev Smith was fired.
She played two seasons for the Ducks, averaging 7.6 points on 47-percent shooting and 5.1 rebounds per game in 57 games played.
Gaynor played in 26 games last season, with 1.3 points and 1.0 rebound per game after guard Nia Jackson went down before the season with a severe knee injury.
