Oregon track and field knows how to finish the regular season with a bang.
The Ducks hosted the final regular season meet of the year Saturday in the Oregon Twilight while simultaneously holding the Pac-10 heptathlon and decathlon championships at Hayward Field. During the Twilight, Olympian high jumper Jesse Williams nearly beat the Hayward Field record, jumping 7 feet, 8 inches to win a thrilling battle over competitor Grant Lindsey, his roommate. Then, it was time for the men’s 4xMile relay that saw the Duck men break the collegiate record with thousands surrounding the team from the outer lanes around the track.
There, capturing it all, were Daily Emerald photographers Mike Perrault and Ivar Vong.
