Michael Franti & Spearhead will play at the Cuthbert Amphitheater on Sunday, with rising hip-hop star Santigold performing and SOJA (Soldiers of JAH Army) opening the concert.
Franti has been producing a wide range of genres for more than 20 years. His music ranges from intense punk-rock to rap and meaningful modern soul music. Franti’s most recent musical masterpiece, “All Rebel Rockers,” is an album featuring Sly & Robbie that reinforces his place as a global icon and a musician of his time.
Franti played at the 2009 Winter Special Olympics in Sun Valley, Idaho. He says the Special Olympics embody the ideas of diversity and inclusion that have always been the kind of messages he strives for in his songs. Through Franti’s musical career, he has built a dedicated grassroots following.
Gates will open at 3:30 p.m. and the show starts at 5 p.m. Tickets will cost $40 on the day of the show. General admission advance tickets are on sale now at all Safeway Ticketswest outlets and the Hult Center Box Office for $35.
