Oregon football will move up its date for walk-on tryouts for the spring football squad to March 11 at 3:30 p.m. at the Casanova Center as it simultaneously changes its spring football schedule.
Oregon Director of Football Operations Jeff Hawkins said the tryout has been moved up because it will give players who make the squad a chance to change their spring quarter schedules around to leave room for the team’s morning practices.
All positions, including kickers and punters, will hold tryouts. Anyone wishing to tryout must be a full-time UO student. Physical tests will include the 40-yard dash, vertical jump and agility drills.
In the past, the Ducks practiced spring football in the afternoons. Instead, Oregon will go from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. three days a week for five weeks, beginning Monday, March 30 and concluding with the Spring Game on May 2 at 2 p.m.
