The Oregon men’s basketball team won its final exhibition game yesterday night, defeating Lewis and Clark 74-59 in its final tune-up before hosting the Basketball Travelers Tip-Off Tournament this weekend at McArthur Court.
Offensively, the Ducks’ shot selection was much improved from the season-opener last weekend against Concordia, with senior Tajuan Porter and junior LeKendric Longmire leading the team with 12 points each. Longmire also pulled down five rebounds to go with his two assists and two steals.
Freshman E.J. Singler had a breakthrough game for the Ducks as he pulled down eight rebounds and scored four points in his 12 minutes of play. It is still undecided whether Singler will redshirt this season, but head coach Ernie Kent said after the game that a decision will hopefully be made by Tuesday.
Josh Kollasch led the way for the visitors as he scored a game-high 20 points on 4-of-6 shooting from behind the three-point line. He also pulled seven boards and went 8-of-11 from the free throw line.
The Ducks will next be in action on Friday in their opening round matchup against Winston-Salem State at Mac Court. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
