The No. 22 University of Oregon women’s golf team finished the first day of competition from the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational on Monday way back of the lead, posting a score of 326.
 
That score was good enough for 38-over par and 30 strokes behind California. The Golden Bears have a five stroke lead over the University of San Francisco, which is at 13-over par.
USF is tops in the individual leaderboard after day one, with two golfers in first and second place. Natasha Podmore is currently in first after shooting an even-par 72 and Christina Stockton is tied at second with a 1-over 73.
 
For the Ducks, not much went right Monday, with the first Oregon golfer finishing tied for 26th.
That would be Erica Omlid, but she is only seven strokes back at a 7-over par. Second for the Ducks is Cheyenne Hickle at 9-over par with a score of 81. She’s tied for 38th.
 
Kendra Little, who lead the Ducks to a win at the Giustina Memorial last weekend in Corvallis, is tied for 49th after shooting an 82. Following her is Kate Hildahl and Monika Graf. Hildahl shot an 84 and is tied for 57th, while Graf is tied for 62nd with her opening round score of 84.
There are 13 teams at the three-day event held at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash. Rounding out the top five team scores are Stanford in third place with a score of 308 strokes, San Jose State University in fourth at 309 and the University of Washington in fifth at 310.
Second round action will start at 10 a.m. today with the first Duck taking the first tee-box at 10:50 a.m.
