Former University Senate President Paul van Donkelaar confirmed in an e-mail to the Senate on Tuesday that biology professor Nathan Tublitz is the Senate’s new vice president. Tublitz was voted in at a May 27 Senate meeting, but his election was at first invalidated because it appeared not enough senators voted in the election.
Tublitz, an outspoken critic of University President Dave Frohnmayer’s administration, said his goal in running for the position was to increase the faculty’s power in the University’s governance process.
