There are two kinds of people in this world: umbrella users and good people.
Doing man-on-the-street interviews, Sam Sigman goes around to find out exactly why anyone would use an umbrella. Through dedicated biased reporting tactics he gets people’s true feelings on the matter. Sam finds out that these umbrella people are awful. Bad. Not good. Wicked. Like, think of Tom Hanks and then the evil opposite of Tom Hanks and that’s basically what Sam found out about umbrella users. And it was all based on his preconceived notions of the aforementioned group. He also thinks that people who own umbrellas are rich. I’m not sure why, he just kind of assumes these things and rolls with it.
Everyone has biases, there’s no doubt about that, but Sam has biases that really have no backing. Who told him that these people are rich? There’s definitely a disconnect between what Sam thinks and reality. But he has a camera so he’s going to get his ideas out there.
