Oregon linebacker Josh Kaddu, 19, of Vacaville, Calif., was issued a citation for minor in possession of alcohol on Saturday.
According to the Eugene Police Department, Kaddu was spotted by police around midnight as he attempted to open the door of a car that did not belong to him. When approached by an officer, Kaddu was “unresponsive” and showed signs of intoxication.
The incident took place at the corner of Eighth Avenue and Olive Street, according to The Register-Guard. The car was identified as a white GMC Yukon, and the owner chose not to press charges on Kaddu.
Shortly after being cited, Kaddu was released.
A sophomore this year, Kaddu stands at 6-3 and weighs 217 pounds. He racked up 21 tackles last season, including one sack. His first career start came against Utah.
Kaddu is just the latest Oregon football player to run into legal trouble. Sophomore kicker Rob Beard recently pleaded guilty to a charge of physical harassment, while sophomore linebacker Kiko Alonso entered a not guilty plea in response to a DUII charge.
Redshirt freshman running back LaMichael James also awaits trial for five misdemeanor charges stemming from an altercation with his girlfriend. He has pleaded not guilty on all charges.
