The ASUO’s leaders are hoping students’ love for the Ducks will help propel them to a conference in Washington, D.C.
Hoping to send more students to the United States Student Association’s annual Legislative Conference, the ASUO is holding a raffle for a signed copy of Sports Illustrated’s Aug. 17 issue. The cover features Ducks quarterback Jeremiah Masoli and center Jordan Holmes, both of whom signed it.
Students can participate by buying $1 raffle tickets at the EMU Ticket Office and are encouraged to buy several. A maximum of 2,000 tickets will be sold.
The ASUO  planned to have the magazine raffled off by Thursday, but ASUO Fundraising Coordinator Andrew Moreland said the raffle got extended because of problems informing students of the drawing. He said NCAA rules prevent him from naming Masoli and Holmes in any advertisement.
“It could actually make them ineligible, and I don’t want to be responsible for that,” he said.
