As final round play begins today, the No. 2 men’s golf team stands in sixth place at the Pacific-10 Conference tournament.
After a slow start in rounds one and two on Monday, the Ducks kicked into high gear Tuesday with a collective score of 346 (nine under par). Oregon’s overall score of 1,049 is 16 under par through three rounds, but a whopping 26 strokes behind first place Stanford.
No. 6 Washington and No. 13 Arizona State round out the top three, with No. 4 UCLA trailing not far behind. No. 23 Oregon State, meanwhile, stands just one stroke behind the Ducks in seventh place with a score of 1,050.
Sophomore Daniel Miernicki led the charge for Oregon on Tuesday, hitting a 64 (seven under par) and vaulting himself into a tie for eighth place overall. Junior Jack Dukeminier, meanwhile, shot a 73 (two over par) and fell into a tie for 22nd.
Junior Isaiah Telles shot a 67 (four under par) to move into a tie for 24th, while sophomore Eugene Wong finished with a 72 (one over par) and currently stands tied for 38th.
One positive for the Ducks as they head into the final round is that each of their six players are currently placed within the top 50 overall. Redshirt sophomore Jack Paton holds sole possession of 47th place, while sophomore Andrew Vijarro is tied for 48th.
