The Oregon men’s basketball team will host San Jose State in its fourth preseason game Saturday afternoon at McArthur Court.
The Ducks (3-0) are fresh off a BTI Invitational tournament victory, while the Spartans, led by senior guard Adrian Oliver (2-0) defeated the University of San Francisco on Tuesday.
In two games this season, Oliver has posted 34 and 25 points, respectively. With the 25-point showing against USF, Oliver moved into 10th place on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,066 points. Oliver has only played 51 games at San Jose State.
On the Oregon front, senior Joevan Catron provided a much-needed scoring punch for a team that has lacked offensive production in recent years. The Phoenix, Ill., native is averaging 20.7 points and six rebounds per contest, while sophomore E.J. Singler leads the team with 6.3 rebounds per night.
Looking ahead, Oregon will host Texas Southern next Tuesday at Mac Court before traveling north to take on No. 1 Duke University on Saturday, Nov. 27, at the Rose Garden in Portland.
Tip time for the San Jose State contest is set for 2 p.m., and will be followed by the Oregon women’s volleyball game against USC at 7 p.m.
