How/Why do you want to change the world?
I want to make the world a more loving place for every person I encounter. I strongly believe that a smile can change everything, so I work hard to make those I care about and spend time with smile and be happy. Little actions such as those can completely turn someone’s day around. I feel that if I am able to make people smile and make them happy, I will be able to make the world a more loving place, one little step at a time. Furthermore, I want to make the world more loving by working my hardest to create environments where everyone has the ability to be their most true self.
What are you proud to have been involved with at University of Oregon?
I am proud to be involved with both the Colleges of History and Education while on campus because they have improved my quality of life significantly. The history department is full of the most welcoming and loving faculty out there, and they really put my academic and personal needs above everything else. When I am with them, I feel like I am truly cared for and from that I have learned a lot. The education department has given me some amazing opportunities, such as being able to be a guest lecturer in EDST 420, giving a talk about anti-Antisemitism and religious inclusion in public schools. This space would not have been created without the education department, and I am so very grateful for all they’ve done for me.
Who is your biggest role model and why?
My twin sister is one of my biggest role models. She embodies hard work and determination. My sister puts her all into everything that she does and never takes anything for granted. When I see her do anything, I see her heart and her soul. At the same time as all of her hard work, she never fails to think about other people and their well-being, making it a priority to know that they are loved and valued, even when she herself is so busy all the time.
What are your goals after college?
I want to attend graduate school and get a Masters Degree in Education, after that I have the ultimate goal of teaching U.S. History at the high school level.
