Oregon freshmen left tackle Penei Sewell to miss an estimated six weeks with a high ankle injury, per a press release. Sewell suffered the injury in the game against Washington, and the six-week timeframe means Sewell would miss the rest of the regular season.
“Penei is a relentless competitor and I have no doubt he’ll return better than ever,” Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal said in the release.
Redshirt junior right tackle Calvin Throckmorton moved to left tackle when Sewell exited the Washington game. Fellow redshirt junior Brady Aiello took Throckmorton’s spot at right tackle.
Aiello started 10 games at left tackle in 2016, and he played in nine games at both tackle positions in 2017.
