The Oregon track and field program has added a new event to its schedule for the benefit of multi-event athletes.
The Oregon Decathlon will pit seven athletes against each other in the traditional decathlon structure at Hayward Field. The meet will start at 12:30 p.m. today with five events on the schedule; it continues at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
Current Ducks Kevin Godfrey, Bruce Burbank and Justin Frick will compete alongside former Duck Marshall Ackley, who competed at the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Lane Community College athletes Preston Smee, David Formolo and Sean Cohen will join them.
