Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s mission to disarm public employee unions is growing increasingly unpopular with citizens in Wisconsin and in America as a whole.
One reason people are standing in support of public employee unions is because they know that teachers often are not paid as much as they should be, considering their level of education and specialized training.
Many of my friends will be looking for teaching jobs around the country after they graduate. I think it’s a great career choice because I know how important it is for children to receive quality educations so that they have the opportunity to attend college and compete globally.
Collective bargaining is one of the few tools teachers have that allows them to negotiate for fair pay.
In support of the union members in the Midwest, there will be a rally and a march downtown at the Convention Center near the Hilton on Friday, March 11 at 4:30 p.m. Consider stopping by. There should be a great turnout.
