A standout performance from senior Kendra Little led the No. 33 Oregon women’s golf team finished seventh overall at the 25th annual Pacific-10 Conference Championships Tuesday afternoon in Tempe, Ariz.
Little, a Eugene native and Sheldon High School graduate, carded the best final round total at a 4-under-par 68, one stroke shy of her career-best mark. Little’s three-day total (72-77-68 — 217) landed her in a tie for sixth place in the individual standings, while UCLA’s Tiffany Lua (68-72-70 — 210) and USC’s Sophia Popov (69-71-70 — 210) tied for the individual title. Little recorded seven birdies on the day.
Oregon’s Erica Omlid finished the final round at 3-over 75 to finish in a tie for 15th. Ashley Edwards (t-22nd), Raphaela Dyer (t-33rd), and Cheyenne Hickle (35th) rounded out the Ducks’ contingent, which tallied a team score of 892, 28 strokes behind team champion No. 2 USC.
No. 7 Arizona (869), and No. 1 UCLA (873) rounded out the top three.
Next up, Oregon will await an invitation to one of the three NCAA Regional tournaments, which will be held in Seattle, South Bend, Ind., and DeLand, Fla., from May 5-7. The top eight finishers from each regional round will advance to the NCAA Championships held at the Traditions Golf Club in College Station, Texas, from May 17-20.
