Oregon forward Amanda Johnson was named to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District VIII First Team Thursday, earning one of the highest regional academic honors for the second year in a row.
The junior from Santa Rosa, Calif., figures to join former Ducks Stefanie Kasperski (1989-90) and Bev Smith (1980, 82) as two-time Academic All-Americans.
Johnson is averaging 16.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game, both team highs, for Oregon this season. In last night’s game against Washington, Johnson eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for her career.
Johnson is pursuing a master’s degree in couples and family therapy and holds a 4.09 grade-point average.
