In the past week, I have read several articles which point the finger at the Oregon Student Public Interest Research Group. I understand good journalism includes featuring stories about conflict and debate, but does it not also involve telling both sides of the story? Hearing from all the parties involved? Delivering all of the facts and not just those that fit a certain bias?
And amid all the articles including people’s reactions to pesky OSPIRG members and stories of there annoying devotion to get funding, I am having a hard time finding any article presenting the true, objective facts about what OSPIRG actually does for the school. Any student organization here has its problems (including the bias of one student-run newspaper at the University), but it also has an upside. I, as a clueless, Emerald-reading University of Oregon student, would like to know about that side of OSPIRG, because right now, I believe the media attention is incredibly one-sided.
To the Emerald: Please, present the facts — not the bias.

Letter: Emerald must lay off OSPIRG slant, report the facts
