The No. 27 Oregon women’s golf team finished out the second day of competition at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in 11th place overall at the Rio Mar Beach Resort Monday afternoon.
The Ducks entered Monday’s round in 14th, improving three spots on the day after shooting a 19-over-par score of 307 on the par-72 course.
Leading the way for Oregon was sophomore Cheyenne Hickle, who is tied for 28th individually after carding the team’s best round of the tournament with her 3-over-par 75 showing on Monday. The Ducks also tallied scores from Raphaela Dyer (t-35th, 79-76-155), junior Ashley Edwards (t-41st, 79-77-156), and seniors Erica Omlid (t-50th, 78-79-157) and Kendra Little (70th, 77-82-159).
In the team race, No. 1 Alabama holds a nine-stroke lead on the 18-team field with an eight-over score of 594. The Crimson Tide was followed by No. 29 Iowa State, No. 44 Florida State, No. 6 Purdue and No. 10 Georgia, to round out the top five.
Individually, Alabama’s Stephanie Meadow and Texas Tech’s Gabriella Dominguez sit in a tie for first entering the third and final round of play on Tuesday.
