Oregon cornerback Cliff Harris pleaded no contest on Thursday to a charge of driving with a suspended license dating back to an Oct. 24 traffic stop, according to The Register-Guard. Harris was fined $300 and placed in a diversion program.
It was one of three charges leveled against Harris during that October stop, with the other two being failure to wear a seatbelt and driving without insurance. The insurance charge was dismissed after Harris proved to have coverage, and he was fined an additional $100 for not wearing a seatbelt.
Should Harris complete the diversion program, according to his lawyer Michael Buseman, the charge for driving with a suspended license will be dismissed on Jan. 17. Generally, according to The Register-Guard, completion of such a program hinges solely on not committing another offense and and providing proof of “increased insurance coverage.”
As of today, Harris remains suspended from all football activities at the University.
