The No. 34 Oregon women’s golf team improved one place to finish second at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational Wednesday afternoon in Sammamish, Wash.@@http://www.goducks.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=500&ATCLID=205004505@@
The Ducks capped their second of five fall tournaments with a three-round total of 898 to finish ahead of No. 21 Washington and No. 16 California, who tied for third at 900. No. 17 Colorado took the team title with a two stroke lead over the Ducks at 896 overall.
Individually, Oregon freshman Cassy Isagawa tied for second with Washington’s Jennifer Yang after finishing even par on the third round. The Wailuku, Hawaii native entered the final day of competition in a tie for first with Yang following a 1-under 71 in the second round of play, but it was Nebraska’s Madeleine Sheils’ 5-under 67 in the final round that sealed the individual title.
Isagawa finished the competition at 72-71-72— 215, one stroke behind Sheils.
Oregon’s Ashley Edwards climbed five spots on the individual leader board to finish in a tie for 12th at 77-75-76— 228. Cheyenne Hickle tied for 21st1 at 229, while Raphaela Dyer tied for 25th at 230 and Monica Petchakan rounded out the Oregon scoring in in a tie for 30th at 233.
