Built in 1938, Civic Stadium has fallen into disrepair ever since the Eugene Emeralds moved to the more modern PK Park. The non-profit group Save Civic Stadium has proposed the ballpark be renovated into a minor league soccer stadium while developers proposed a Fred Meyer superstore. The activists continue to provide upkeep for the facility periodically by cleaning up and mowing the grass. To combat vandalism, a watchman lives on the premises and patrols the facility at night.
