It’s Halloween here in Eugene, but the news cycle doesn’t stop around Oregon football. After dropping to No. 8 in the BCS rankings on Sunday (and prompting the ever-predictable vitriol towards a “broken system”), the Ducks returned to practice on Monday to start preparing for a trip to Washington. Should be a fun week for Chip Kelly and co.; I’m going out on a limb and predicting he’ll be asked roughly 10,000 times who the starting quarterback is. In the immortal words of Bart Scott, “Can’t wait!”
On to the links:
– Speaking of hilarious post game interviews, Root Sports’ Jim Knox should probably learn De’Anthony Thomas’ name. Props to Chip Kelly for providing his usual quick witted response:
(Slight aside: wouldn’t it be great if his name really was De’Angelo? I’m going to wistfully look back on this interview every time someone mentions his name for at least the next two weeks. Never change, Root Sports.)
– The Register-Guard’s Postgame Brew is back, this time from the press box with coffee. Technically a “brew,” but we’ll say it again, Register-Guard corporate folk: free the PostGame Brew!
-Speaking of the Guard, Rob Moseley came through with a cool feature video today about wide receivers coach Scott Frost and his work with the freshmen.
-And finally, De’Anthony Thomas’ jukefest from Saturday in gif form. You’re welcome.
