Fall is in full swing, and the Oregon snow season is less than two months away.

Backcountry Gear founder and owner Michael Monson@@http://www.bbb.org/oregon/business-reviews/sportswear-retail/backcountry-gear-shack-in-eugene-or-22015459@@ explained why skiers and snowboarders get excited for the preseason movie releases.
“For a lot of people,” Monson said, “it just gets your blood pumping when you see that action and starts you praying for snow. People just kind of let loose. You hear a lot of whooping and hollering in the audience. It just gets people excited.”
Skiers and snowboarders might recall that last winter yielded some serious storms which dumped record levels of snow in some areas.
“Last season, Utah’s Wasatch Mountains@@http://www.utah.com/stateparks/wasatch_mtn.htm@@ and most of North America experienced a record-breaking doozy, making our never-ending mission to flatten as many snowflakes as possible almost easy,” Powderwhore Productions wrote in a press release.@@http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/doozy@@
In addition to “Breaking Trail,” four other films are showing in Eugene this fall.
Telemark Skier Magazine@@http://telemarkskier.com/@@’s 2011 film “Loyalty” is playing at Oakshire Brewery on Wednesday, Oct. 26. The film was directed by Josh Madsen@@http://www.zvents.com/z/eugene-or/tsm-movie-tour-featuring-loyalty-eugene–events–204342106@@.
The event will be at Oakshire Brewery, and in addition to the movie, will feature drink specials and trivia.
Warren Miller Films put out their 62nd film, “Like There’s No Tomorrow!”, this year. The movie is playing on Thursday, Oct. 27, at the McDonald Theatre@@http://www.mcdonaldtheatre.com/eventCalendar.html@@.
