After setting the Oregon single-game rushing record with his 288-yard outburst on Saturday, junior running back LaMichael James was chosen as the Pac-12 player of the week on offense, the conference announced Monday.
James also set the school record with 363 all-purpose yards in Oregon’s 56-31 victory over Arizona in Tucson. The Texarkana, Texas, native now leads the country in rushing with 603 yards (153.25 per game) as the Ducks head enter a bye week before hosting Cal next Thursday night.
It was the third time in his career that James was selected as offensive player of the week after taking the honor following wins over Stanford last season and USC in 2009.
The consensus All-American was also named to the Paul Hornung Award weekly honor roll for the second time this season, and was chosen as the running back performer of the week be the College Football Performance Awards for the second time as well.
