Happy Tuesday, everyone (if there is such a thing). We’re back with another batch of links for you today. Three more day of practices before the big game, and you can feel in the air. As a slight aside, we plan on having more to offer you this week besides links, hopefully beginning Thursday or Friday.
On to today’s stories:
ESPN College Gameday Analyst Kirk Herbstreit released his 11th annual “Herbie Awards” today on ESPN. The Ducks got a lot of love, particularly LaMichael James. The junior running back was tabbed as the nation’s best running back and most exciting player, while the Oregon running back corps as a whole was labeled as the best position unit. Darron Thomas, meanwhile, is the third-ranked dual-threat quarterback. Oh, and Herbie has the Ducks winning the National Championship over Alabama.
Josh Huff practiced in full pads Tuesday, according to The Oregonian’s Lindsay Schnell, but his status for Saturday is still unclear. My guess is that he’ll be ready to go against the Tigers.
Darron Thomas made some headlines yesterday when he declared the LSU game to be “bigger” than the national championship last winter. Rob Moseley has more details in today’s Register-Guard, as Thomas moves on to say, “This is like the championship. If we lose this game, it’s a done season.” Think he’s ready for Saturday?
The Ducks might have a special guest speaker tonight.
