Game week is upon us, and it’s safe to say that LSU-Oregon is the talk of the college football nation. Sure, No. 5 Boise State and No. 19 Georgia are set to play (somewhat inexplicably) on ESPN at the exact same time as the Cowboys Classic on ABC, but honestly, which one would you rather watch if you were entirely neutral? This game has the feel of a BCS Bowl, and national writers are treating it as such. On to the links:
If you weren’t excited about the upcoming season, just watch this video that DucksEmpire.com put together. It’s very well done, and got me as pumped up as I could be without having had my morning coffee.
Sports Illustrated’s Stewart Mandel leads off his Monday column with Oregon-LSU, saying that the matchup between Oregon’s offensive line and LSU’s front four could determine the winner on Saturday (just as it did in the national championship game). Luckily for the Ducks, as Mandel points out, there is no Nick Fairley on LSU’s line.
Oregon stands atop ESPN Pac-12 blogger Ted Miller’s Week 1 Power Rankings. Surprising exactly no one, Washington State ranks last.
Some Twitter fun: Reggie Bush may be a USC alum, but he’s a big fan of Oregon’s uniforms.
