The Oregon men’s and women’s track and field teams will return to Seattle for the UW Invitational, held at Washington’s Dempsey Indoor Facility. The meet begins Friday at 3 p.m. and continues Saturday at 9 a.m.
Oregon has held on to its No. 1 women’s team ranking in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association polls, while the Oregon men come in at No. 5.
Distance events and multi-event competitions will be a primary focus for both teams. Reigning NCAA pentathlon champion Brianne Theisen is slated to compete in her first full pentathlon of the season, while a quartet of Oregon men — Bruce Burbank, Dakotah Keys, David Klech and Kevin Godfrey — will compete in the men’s heptathlon.
Zoe Buckman and Anne Kesselring will compete in the women’s mile, with Alex Kosinski and Jordan Hasay set to compete in the women’s 3,000-meter race. All four are indoor All-Americans.
For the men, Matthew Centrowitz is entered in the mile and 3,000m, with freshman Cole Watson joining him in the mile. Kenny Klotz, Danny Mercado, Luke Puskedra and Parker Stinson are slated to compete at 5,000 meters.
