Love LeBron, Bosh and Wade? Can’t stand Dirk Nowitzki? Either way, here’s a few reasons to accept the results of this year’s NBA playoffs.
1. J.J. Barea: The first superhero for short people since Frodo Baggins
2. Admit it, it was about time for Pat Riley to lose at something
3. No more “taking my talents to…” jokes — for a few months, at least
4. The Big Three’s unexplained choke: get a 70 or better on your tests? You can hold one thing over LeBron — you passed your finals
5. No-ring-ski no longer: five of the “best players to never win” can now scratch that off their bucket list — including Dirk, Jason Kidd and Shawn Marion
6. No more talking basketball ads
7. Face it, last season basically started in July with The Decision. It’ll be good to have a break from professional basketball
8. No more daily updates from Miami — nobody cares about the Marlins
9. Three straight months of Charles Barkley no longer being considered an expert
10. The Blazers can claim the title of 2nd best team in the West — after all, they gave the Mavs more trouble than any team until the finals. (Hey, give them a break. Half the team didn’t have both knees working properly.)
