In case you missed the opening-day action, here’s the rundown and a few things to look for on Friday.
Galen Rupp didn’t clearly didn’t disappoint in the men’s 10,000-meter race.
Decathlete Ashton Eaton showed he’s the man to beat, even with defending Olympic champion Bryan Clay in the competition.
A couple of 2011 Oregon signees — Alec Fellows and Alyssa Monteverde — competed well in the front half of the Junior Nationals decathlon and heptathlon.
The men’s 1,500m was full of Ducks as usual, with the handful advancing to Saturday’s final.

As for Friday’s competition, Ashton Eaton will be looking to close out the decathlon in style with five events remaining, while Alec Fellows looks to do the same in the Junior Nationals competition.
A trio of Oregon pole vaulters — Sammie Clark, Kortney Ross, and UO signee Anginae Monteverde — are still alive this morning.
UO sprinter English Gardner will look to claim the women’s junior 100m title later this afternoon after winning her heat earlier in the day.
Tyson Gay will compete in the men’s 100m semi-final and likely final, as will Nic Symmonds in the 800m semi, and Oregon’s Mike Berry in the 400m semi.
In the distance areas, Jordan Hasay will look to bounce back from a bit of a rough day on Thursday and claim the women’s 5,000m final. Oregon Track Club Elite’s Kara Goucher and Shalane Flanagan will also compete in that race.
