The Eugene Police Department has identified the person who died after falling from a train in Eugene on April 1 as University of Oregon student Connor James.
The Register-Guard reported the story on Monday.
James’ body was reported on the train tracks near Northwest Expressway and North Park Avenue early morning Friday.
According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, James apparently died falling from a train but was not struck. The sheriff’s office said a person matching the description of James was seen climbing on a train heading to Portland on Thursday night, but when Union Pacific employees searched the train, no one was found.
It is unknown if alcohol or substances were a factor in the accident.
