On the opening day of the Stanford Tournament, the Oregon beach volleyball team dropped matches to California and Arizona State.
The Ducks have now fallen to 1-6 on the season.
Oregon lost 5-0 to California in the first match of the day before losing 3-2 to Arizona State to round out Saturday action.
Against No. 16 Cal, one Oregon pair reached a third set. The Ducks’ No. 4 combo of Lauren Page and Maddy Silberger-Frank won the first set 21-17, but Cal bounced back with 21-19 and 15-10 wins to take the match.
Against Arizona State (7-7), Oregon won at No. 2 and No. 4, but fell short of a match victory.
Down 0-1, Page and Silberger-Frank tied the match up for the Ducks with a three-set win over Jourdan Parnell and Bethany Wedepohl. The Sun Devils eventually clinched the match with wins at Nos. 3 and 1.
Taylor Agost and Martenne Bettendorf won the final point of the match at the No. 2 spot with a 22-20, 15-21, 15-13 showing.
The Ducks play again on Sunday with matches against Saint Mary’s and Stanford.
