Oregon softball’s three-run third inning proved to be enough in a 4-3 win over Oregon State in Corvallis on Saturday.
The Ducks improve to 31-6, 9-2 in Pac-12 play. The win gives the Ducks their 11th straight win against the Beavers.
Oregon scored four runs via seven hits through the first five innings. Hailey Decker provided the bulk of Oregon’s offense with a three-run blast.
Freshman Megan Kleist (13-3) got the start for the Ducks and didn’t allow a run through four innings of work. The Beavers hit a two-run home run to cut the Duck lead to 4-2 and scored again on a RBI double, forcing Kleist out of the game.
Oregon brought in Geri Ann Glasco, who got herself out of the inning with a pair of strikeouts. Glasco pitched the sixth and the Ducks brought in Cheridan Hawkins to close out the game. Glasco and Hawkins allowed just two base runners in relief.
The series finale comes on Sunday at 3 p.m.
