Former University of Oregon basketball forward Trevor Manuel is transferring to Loyola Marymount University, Michigan Live reported Friday morning.
The 6-foot-9 forward and former four-star recruit left Oregon this week and verbally committed to LMU midway through his freshman season.
“I think it’s a good fit because it’s a program that’s being built back up and I want to be a part of the progression and something special here,” Manuel said in a text to MLive.com.
He averaged 1.1 points and 1.0 rebounds per game while appearing in nine of 14 games for the Ducks. Manuel must sit out one year before playing for LMU.
His departure, along with Oregon’s announcement that senior graduate transfer Dylan Ennis will miss the remainder of the season, leaves the Ducks with nine scholarship players on the current roster.
